Book Description
This book is a story of Lublin’s stethls, which until 1939 saw the rich religious, economic and cultural life of the Jewish community, and which became the place of torment and suffering during the 2nd World War. It includes information on such places as Lublin, Pisaki, Izbica and many others. The text was written by Robert Kawałek, director of the Museum – Memorial Site in Bełżec.
The guidebook includes extensive iconographic material portraying the life of former Polish-Jewish towns in the Lubelski Region, as well as photographs of the present condition of the monuments of Jewish culture in the locations. In many cases they are unique structures, miraculously saved from wartime destruction. This release is a tourist guidebook addressed to all those willing to visit the presented places. It is a fascinating read for everyone who wishes to learn more about the history of Polish Jews.
